Exercise can help you lose weight, increase muscle strength, and improve your cholesterol and
blood pressure levels. Exercise also has mental and emotional benefits. It can increase alertness and energy levels. It can help
you sleep better. It can relieve stress. And it can increase your self-esteem through the sense of accomplishment you achieve.

As with anything worthwhile, a good exercise program will take time, dedication, and effort. Think of it as "sweat" equity. The time
that you invest in exercise will reap great benefits in your health and the quality of your life. Exercise can help you lose weight and increase muscle strength,
and it can improve your cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Regular exercise can
decrease the severity of the pain associated with vascular disease in your legs (claudication). If you are a diabetic, exercise may have a similar effect to insulin,
sometimes even making it possible to decrease your medication. This, of course, would only be done by your doctor. Remember, never change your medications on your own.
